Wales scrum-half Kieran Hardy has revealed he's missed his daughter's birthday due to the Scarlets squad having to quarantine in Belfast.
Hardy is part of the west Walians' squad that was caught up in South Africa when the new Omicron variant emerged - resulting in both the Scarlets and Cardiff facing issues not only with getting out of the country, but returning to this one.
Eventually, both sides have been able to return - but with a 10-day quarantine period at the other end of their travels. The players are confined to their rooms, only allowed out for 30 minutes exercise each day.
For the Scarlets, that means time spent in Belfast - which has put their Champions Cup clash with Bristol in serious doubt.
Stuck in Northern Ireland until the end of this week, scrum-half Hardy posted a picture on Instagram of his daughter's third birthday without him.
Hardy shared two posts from his partner Ellie McLean on his story, with the first being a video of daughter Piper with Hardy's Instagram handle tagged in.
The second was a picture of all of Piper's presents and birthday balloons, with the caption: "All ready for my big girl. Just missing one person" - with Hardy again tagged in the image.
