Waldorf Education has been a part of the Thai education system for more than 20 years. It is actively involved with education reform here.
The Waldorf school movement is the largest free school movement in the world with about 1,100 schools and more than 2,000 kindergartens.
As part of the 2019 worldwide celebration, ‘The Waldorf 100 International Pedagogical Conference’ was held at Panyotai School in Bangkok from May 5 to May 11.
More than 250 teachers, educators and parents from over 20 countries participated in the conference.

One of the participants in the conference was Mrs. Jorinde Stockmar from Germany. She stays in Asia for about 3 months a year to advise Waldorf Schools in Thailand and Malaysia. Her grandfather founded the Stockmar company in Germany.
Together with Waldorf teachers, Stockmar developed the world-famous art materials, such as modeling wax, watercolors, colouring blocks and crayons made from beeswax that are used in Waldorf Schools.
