Wakefield Avenue in Edinburgh closes for works – with Portobello Road also affected

Wakefield Avenue to the east of Edinburgh is closing this morning to allow roadworks to get underway in the area.

Portobello Road is also expected to be hit with significant disruption.

The measures are being introduced to allow the completion of resurfacing works on Craigentinny Road. This is likely to last three days.

Wakefield Road will be off-limits at Portobello Road, and Portobello Road will see the introduction of temporary traffic lights at the junction between Craigentinny Road and Restalrig Avenue.

Disruption is expected to continue until the weekend, with local diversions signposted.
