Why Elon Will Win
This is a dangerous team with the talent to make this a four quarter fight.

The Phoenix of Elon beat Citadel two weeks ago – the same Citadel team that got by Georgia Tech last week.
Elon has the weapons to keep up the pace with the Demon Deacons, starting with a cheeky quarterback – so, so sorry – in veteran Davis Cheek who’s a sharp passer and baller who can spread the ball around well. The offense can move the chains, there aren’t a lot of big mistakes or turnovers, and the pass rush is more than good enough to get to Jamie Newman and slow down the Wake Forest fun.
Why Wake Forest Will Win
The Demon Deacon offense has been fantastic.
The passing attack leads all ACC teams averaging over 300 yards per game, the ground game is good enough to balance things out, and it keeps coming in waves. Elon doesn’t have the secondary and defense to slow down what’s coming.
The O proved it could come back when down early, it showed it could keep up the pace in a back-and-forth shootout, and it has been able to hold on in close battles against Utah State and North Carolina. Elon will crank up the offense, but Wake Forest doesn’t panic.

What’s Going To Happen
Elon isn’t going to go quietly.
Wake Forest will take this seriously and won’t go through the motions, but it might not matter. The Elon offense will score just enough to make the Demon Deacons keep pushing, and it’ll all work. There won’t be a whole lot of drama – Wake Forest’s pass rush will come through when it has to – but expect a lot of passing game fun.
