A Waitrose store has been closed and deliveries cancelled due to the number of staff suffering with coronavirus or currently self-isolating.
A deep clean of the branch of the supermarket in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport was carried out last week after a number of staff tested positive.
However the firm said they had now taken the decision to close the store due to the number of staff who had either tested positive, or were self-isolating.
They would not confirm how many staff were affected.
The store on Station Road shut at 4pm on Monday evening and will remain closed until next Tuesday, January 26.
As a result customers who had placed online delivery orders have had an email informing them they have been cancelled.
Bosses have apologised for the inconvenience but say the move will allow all staff to be tested before returning to work.
"The safety of our customers and Partners is our priority so we’ve temporarily closed our Cheadle Hulme shop until Tuesday January 26 due to the number of Partners self isolating" the firm said in a statement.
"The shop will be thoroughly cleaned during this time and it allows for Partners to be offered tests before returning to the shop.
"We continue to follow all Government guidance and recommendations.
"We're very sorry for the inconvenience this will cause.
"Unfortunately we are therefore temporarily unable to fulfil online orders.
"We are extremely sorry to let our customers down at such short notice and we have offered them a discount off their next order.
"Our online service will be available again as soon as we reopen."
