Waitrose is recalling two soups over fears they could pose a risk to allergy sufferers

Waitrose is recalling two soups over fears they may pose a health risk to people with soya allergies.

The supermarket is recalling its sweet potato and coconut soup and its roasted tomato, bean and quinoa soup.

This is because some of the pots have been filled with an incorrect product which contains soya that is not mentioned on the labels.

This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.

The Food Standards Agency has issued an allergy alert.

The recall applies to 400g sized products with a use by date of 25 August 2019 (Waitrose)

The recall applies to 400g sized products with a use by date of 25 August 2019.

No other Waitrose products are known to be affected.

The supermarket is asking any customers to return the product for a full refund.

The FSA says: "If you have bought either of the above products and have an allergy to soya do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."
