Waitress claims she lost her job after being sent home for wearing 'ugly and inappropriate' top

A waitress claims she was sent home from work for wearing an 'ugly and inappropriate top' - before then getting the sack for posting about the incident online.

The woman, who lives in the US, shared a video to TikTok of her outfit, where she was wearing a long-sleeved black crop top and black trousers.

She then posted a follow-up video from her car in floods of tears saying she had been sent home from her job at a restaurant and bar, the Mirror reports.

The 21-year-old said: "Hi guys, I just got off work and I got sent home for my top, because they didn't like my top. What the f*** is this, a f***ing fashion show? I don't get it."

She says customers at the restaurant-come-nightclub where she worked wear similar outfits, adding the venue has "paintings of naked girls on the f***ing walls".

The waitress continued: "It just doesn't make sense. I'm so mad because I drove 45 minutes here."

In a later update, she then tells her followers that she returned to work another day, but was then fired.

"I drove to work, and drove 45 minutes here, and they fired me," she explained.

"Yay, I'm so happy, I'm literally - this is the best day ever. They said because of my TikTok and someone commented the name of the restaurant near the TikTok. And I'm fired, and now I don't have a job.

"I'm 100 per cent sure the owners and the managers are going to see this TikTok and I don't care, I'm literally just expressing my feelings," before adding that she had never named the restaurant in her posts.

The original video racked up more than half a million views, but viewers have been left divided on whether the restaurant acted unfairly in letting her go.

Some defended her, saying: "They're jealous babes! You look amazing," and a second said: "No because you don't deserve this YOUR TOP LOOKS SO GOOD LIKE WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEM??"

But others completely disagreed, with one arguing: "Babe you're not a victim, I would NEVER wear that to work and if I did I'd get fired."

Another added: "Clearly you broke the dress code. If it's a bar of course customers can wear crop tops. But I've never been to a bar where an employee was wearing one."
