Australians Stephanie Gilmore, Tyler Wright and Liam O'Brien face another day of waiting after organisers of the World Surf League's El Salvador Pro again called off competition because of a lack of swell at Punta Roca.
Wednesday was the third successive lay-day for the event, which is stalled at the semi-finals stage.
"We are calling the event off today due to the ongoing small swell," WSL Director of Tours and Competition Renato Hickel said.
"We're expecting a better swell with a longer wave period and around the four-to-six-foot range for tomorrow which could be finals day, conditions permitting."
When competition does get under way, defending women's champion Gilmore will take to the waves against fellow Australian and current world No.2 Wright in a blockbuster semi-final.
Hawaii's five-time world champion Carissa Moore goes against Caroline Marks of the USA in the other semi.
O'Brien's path to a first Championship Tour final is blocked by world No.1 and reigning El Salvador men's champion Griffin Colapinto.
The second men's semi-final pits rookie Ian Gentil against world champion Filipe Toledo from Brazil.
