Wagamama launches supermarket range including Katsu Curry and all sales got to charity

Wagamama has launched a new range of supermarket meal kits and sauces so you can make your favourite dishes at home.

The meal kits include menu classics such as Katsu Curry, Chicken Ramen and Pad Thai, with each one costing £3.30 each.

Each kit contains the core ingredients you need for each dish but you’ll need to buy the meat and fresh vegetables to go alongside it yourself.

For example, with the Katsu Curry you get soy sauce and spices, panko breadcrumbs and salad dressing.

Or if you go for the Chicken Ramen, you’ll get noodles, chicken stock, sesame seeds and wakame seaweed.

As well as the meal kits, Wagamama has also launched stir fry sauces that cost £1.15 each, with flavours including Firecracker, Teriyaki, and Pad Thai.

The Japanese-inspired food chain is also now selling Katsu Curry and Raisukaree pastes for £2.25 each.

Wagamama has started selling its meal kits, pastes and sauces today in Waitrose and will expand the range into Morrisons, Sainsbury’s Tesco and Ocado this month.

The supermarket selection was inspired by the positive fan response to Wagamama’s cooking series Wok From Home, which it launched while its restaurants were closed for dine-in during the coronavirus pandemic.

Profits from the sales of its supermarket products will be donated to its charity partner YoungMinds.

Wagamama CEO Thomas Heier said: “After seeing so many of our guests benefit from cooking along with Steve during the lockdown, we were inspired.

“We wanted to make it easier for our guests to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of cooking, long after lockdown.

“We hope our new range will help more people to do just that.”

YoungMinds CEO Emma Thomas said: “We are facing unprecedented challenges for young people’s mental health and YoungMinds’ work has never been needed more.

“Our partnership with Wagamama has already been instrumental in helping us to reach more young people with advice, support and messages of hope.”
