'Wacky Omarosa' was 'vicious' and 'hated' by other White House staffers, Trump tweets

President Donald Trump lashed out on Monday morning at former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman in the wake of her tell-all book in which she called him narcissistic and racist.

"Wacky Omarosa, who got fired three times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time," the president posted. "She never made it, never will. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart. I would rarely see her but heard...."

Manigault Newman has been making the rounds on TV talk shows promoting her new poison-pen book, in which she says she heard a tape recording of Trump using the n-word.

"Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House" chronicles the relationship the reality star-turned-presidential aide with the president.

She also recorded White House Chief of Staff John Kelly in the Situation Room when he fired her.

The president finished his Twitter thought a few minutes later.

"... really bad things. Nasty to people & would constantly miss meetings & work. When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems. I told him to try working it out, if possible, because she only said GREAT things about me _ until she got fired," the president tweeted.

Trump also said great things about Manigault Newman, until her book tours started.

"Thank you Omarosa for your service! I wish you continued success," he tweeted in 2017.

For her own part, Manigault Newman appeared to be prepared to go to the wall for Trump as well, until she was let go.

"Every critic, every detractor will have to bow down to President Trump," she wrote on Twitter. It's everyone who's every doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe."

Her dismissal seemed to take the president by surprise, according to the secret recording she made of the president.

"No ... I ... I ... Nobody even told me about it," he said after hearing she was fired. "Wow."

"You know they run a big operation but I didn't know it," Trump says in the recording. "I didn't know that. Goddammit. I don't love you leaving at all."

White House spokes woman Sarah Huckabee Sanders called Manigault's book "riddled with lies and false accusations."

"It's sad that a disgruntled former White House employee is trying to profit off these false attacks, and even worse that the media would now give her a platform, after not taking her seriously when she had only positive things to say about the president during her time in the administration," the spokeswoman said.
