WA take first-innings lead over Tasmania in Shield

Tasmania have fought back against free-scoring Western Australia before a last-wicket stand allowed the home side to take a first-innings lead of 85 at tea in their Sheffield Shield clash.

WA reached 9-264 at the break in response to Tasmania's 179.

Mitch Marsh is unbeaten on 64 with No.11 Charlie Stobo on 11.

WA secured a crushing 383-run win over Tasmania just last week in Hobart.

Spinner Jarrod Freeman impressed with 4-55, including the wickets of prolific openers Cameron Bancroft and Whiteman.
