Therein lies the thinking behind London’s growing number of multi-functional venues – think Mare Street Market, The Ned, Pergola Olympia and sister ventures Market Hall Victoria and Market Hall Fulham – who are mixing the diversity of the street market with the comfort of, well, a roof.
W12 Studios is the latest venue to join this blossoming brigade of luxe food courts, promising to bring a fusion of London’s best food, drink and music to one of the city’s most up-and-coming areas. This is everything you need to know about the new foodie-plus hotspot heading to west London.
What is W12 Studios?
W12 Studios is the latest multifunctional food court, bar and music venue to come to the capital. The 450-person capacity venue will feature multiple food operators, a cocktail bar and spaces for live performances and DJ sets, all under one roof with communal seating.
The venture is the brainchild of Rory Graham, a former actor and alumni of Indian restaurant Kricket’s management team.
Where is W12 Studios and when will it open in London?
The clue’s in the name: W12 Studios will be yet another addition to White City’s burgeoning cultural cornucopia. The venue is situated in White City Place, the former home of the BBC and its Television Centre. W12 Studios is set to open to the public on February 7.
What restaurants are at W12 Studios?
Having teamed up with street food connoisseurs Feast It, two rotating kitchens are set to make W12 Studios a veritable revolving door for some of the capital’s hottest food operators.
February will see Joshua Moroney – former head chef of barbecue joint Smokestak – bring his new venture Cue Point to the west London spot. He’ll be joined in the other kitchen by The Piadina Project, the sarnie sensations that specialise in fried chicken wrapped in thin Italian flatbreads.
The following month will host Brixton-hailing west African food purveyor Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, which will be cooking alongside a currently undisclosed trader.
The bar will focus on the capital’s most innovative beverage producers, featuring London craft breweries, wine merchants and distilleries, including The East London Liquor Company.
What live music and DJs will be at W12 Studios?
Music is just as much at the heart of W12 Studios, with the venue doubling as a platform for emerging artists. Both live music and DJ sets will be on the agenda, with confirmed acts currently including the likes of Max Rad, Quiet Man, Tommy Gold, Finn Foxell and P-rallel. As well as performances, the music offering will extend to club nights (the venue will be open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays), disco brunches and open mic nights.
