Vulnerable woman’s bag snatched by cyclist in Weston-super-Mare

Police have issued an appeal after a vulnerable woman's bag was snatched by a cyclist in Weston-super-Mare .

The incident happened between 12.40pm and 12.50pm on Saturday (September 21) in a lane between Locking Road and Sandford Road.

A man cycled up behind the woman, who walks with a stick, and grabbed her bag.

He then rode off towards Mendip Road. Police described him as black, of large build and wearing a white baseball cap at the time.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary says it would like to hear from a second cyclist who may have been in the area at the time.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for witnesses and information after a vulnerable woman had her handbag snatched in Weston-Super-Mare.

"If you have any information which could help  get in touch  quoting reference 5219218618."
