Vulnerable 80-year-old man with Alzheimer’s missing from his home in Motherwell

A vulnerable 80-year-old man has been reported missing from his home in Motherwell.

Jim Cuthbertson, 80, from Leyland Road, was last seen at his home address around 10.30pm last night (Sunday, October 18).

Inspector David Doherty, of Motherwell Police Station, said: “Jim has Alzheimer's and his family are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.”

Jim is white, around 5ft7 and well built. He stoops over when walking, and is believed to be wearing a blue hoodie, blue trousers and blue shoes.

Anyone who has seen Jim or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, using incident number 0544 of 19 October.

UPDATE: Jim has been found safe and well, Police Scotland has confirmed.

Jim is the third missing person we’ve reported on today, including 20-year-old James Lambie, who is missing from his home in Dumfries and believed to be sleeping rough somewhere in Glasgow city centre.

Teenager Reece Clark, 14, is also missing from his home in Airdrie and hasn’t been seen since Saturday.
