Today, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, experienced a voting malfunction at polling places due to a printing error on ballots. The top official, Scott Hunt, president commissioner of Cambria County and chair of the election board, explained that the issue arose because the machines couldn't read electronically cast ballots with incorrectly printed barcodes.
Upon discovering the problem, the county took swift action by requesting its printing company in Pittsburgh to reprint the ballots. County employees have been dispatched to retrieve the new ballots, which will be distributed across Cambria County this afternoon.

For the ballots already cast that cannot be read by the machines, Hunt assured that they will be hand-counted to ensure that every vote is accounted for. He emphasized that the priority at this moment is to enable people to vote and ensure that their votes will be counted.
It is important to note that mail-in ballots were not affected by the printing issue, providing a reliable alternative for voters who opted for this method.
