VOTE: Who is Nottingham Forest's greatest goalkeeper?

Last month, NottinghamshireLive readers voted John Robertson as Nottingham Forest greatest ever player.

The Scottish midfielder, who was once described as "a little fat guy" by Brian Clough, topped the poll with a staggering 42% of the votes.

Stuart Pearce was a close second on last month's pole, picking up 26% of the votes.

Third went to Stan Collymore (9%), closely followed by Peter Shilton (8%) and Des Walker (3%).

Current City Ground management duo  Martin O'Neill  and Roy Keane both made the list with a slim 1% of the vote each.

In total there were 13 other Garibaldi legends who received votes from supporters, leading us to ask the question: Who would make the club's greatest ever XI?

Today we are starting in between the City Ground sticks, and while it may seem obvious at first who will romp home in the number one spot, there are plenty of other shot-stoppers who deserve a mention.

Shilton needs no introduction. The back-to-back European Cup winner under Clough, he went on to make 125 appearances for England over his 31-year career.

Reds academy graduate Mark Crossley made 303 appearances for the Reds during his 11 years in Nottingham, even heading out on loan to Manchester United as 21-year-old.

Peter Grummitt and Steve Sutton have also made the four-man shortlist.

Grummitt was a regular for at the City Ground, while Sutton, who also turned out for rivals Derby and Notts County, lifted two League Cups and two Full Members Cups under Clough.
