Vote McCain, Freud would understand

To paraphrase Chris Rock, when Dubya looks back on his noble presidency and wonders what his legacy is, he can take pride in that he screwed things up so gloriously that he has made it impossible for a middle aged white man to be elected. But who should take his place - the old guy, the black guy or the chick? It's a toughie, I have to concede, typing away beneath my poster of OBAMA. But fortunately, Sylvester Stallone rocked up on Sky News this weekend to help us make a choice.

So Sylvester was in town promoting Rambo 72: The Arthritis Bites Back when the perky presenter asked the great sage who he is supporting in the election. McCain, turned out to be the totally unsurprising answer. But why, Sylvie, why? "Well, at my age - " he began. But wait - how could this answer possibly have ended? Was it:

(a) "I relate to a guy trying to convince people he is fit for a role that he is clearly at least two decades too old for"

(b) "Everyone knows that men tend to conservatism once they pass the half century mark so - go McCain!"

(c) "I admire an anti-abortionist now that I no longer have to worry about such matters"

(d) None of the above.

And the answer is... (d) The answer in fact was "I guess I'm looking for a father figure." Stallone is 61. Suck that thumb, little Sylvie, the doctor will see you in just a minute.
