Fair Tax supporters make more shaky promises
Regarding the Fair Tax. First of all, no one is talking about curtailing state spending. They’re just asking for more.
I will consider voting in favor of the amendment to move Illinois to a progressive income tax, rather than the current flat tax. But explain to me why I should trust the state after being lied to about toll roads paying for themselves, about the state Lottery supposedly solving the problem of funding for education, and about how nuclear energy will be so cheap that our electric meters will be removed.
