Von Miller trending in right direction to make Rams debut in Week 10

Von Miller was unable to make his season debut with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9 following his trade from the Denver Broncos. The All-Pro edge rusher is dealing with a lingering ankle injury that he sustained earlier this season with the Broncos.

After giving Miller an extra week of rest, Sean McVay seems to be optimistic about the chances we see the newly acquired edge rusher on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers. McVay gave an update on Miller’s status during Thursday’s media session.

“We’re going to be smart with Von’s ankle, but he’s making great progress. Feel really good about him,” McVay said. “I think it’s really just the movement. Seeing how he’s transitioning and seeing how he’s able to change direction and doing some of the things that are required at the position for him to play at the level we know he’s capable of.”

If it were up to Miller, he would have made his debut for the Rams in Week 9. However, Los Angeles is taking a cautious approach with the 32-year-old edge rusher, making sure that he’s fully healed from the ankle injury before deploying him.

Given McVay’s comments, it’s apparent that Miller is making positive progress in practice this week. As long as everything goes according to plan in the next couple of days, we may get an opportunity to see Miller on the field with Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Leonard Floyd for the first time when the Rams travel to take on their NFC West rivals in the 49ers on Monday Night Football.
