Von Miller eager to work with ‘outside linebacker guru’ Vic Fangio

Broncos coach Vic Fangio has coached plenty of talented linebackers, including three Hall of Famers (Kevin Greene, Rickey Jackson and Ray Lewis) and a Defensive Player of the Year (Pat Swilling).

In Denver, Fangio will work with Von Miller, another future Hall of Famer.

“Coach Fangio, he’s all about technique, assignment, intensity and effort, and I like that,” Miller said during a press conference Tuesday. “He’s an outside linebacker guru, and he’s up next with me.”

Miller has been selected to seven Pro Bowls and he was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl 50 but — believe it or not — he can get even better under Fangio.

“[I can get] more sacks, more tackles, more plays and being able to be dominant in more games,” Miller said. “That’s better. If we’re able to do that, then we’ll be better.”

Entering his ninth season, Miller has totaled 443 tackles and 98 sacks, the latter of which is a franchise record.
