Von Miller and Bradley Chubb fined for hits on Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew

Talk about adding insult to injury.

Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb was placed on injured reserve this week after tearing his ACL during a 26-24 loss to the Jaguars last Sunday. In addition to suffering a season-ending injury, Chubb was also fined $21,056 for a hit on Jacksonville quarterback Gardner Minshew, according to The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala.

Chubb wasn’t the only player fined for actions in last week’s game.

Denver outside linebacker Von Miller was also fined $21,056 for a hit on Minshew and Jaguars defensive lineman Yannick Ngakoue was fined the same amount for a hit on Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco. Jacksonville linebacker Myles Jack was also fined $10,527 for an unnecessary roughness penalty.

Before his injury, Chubb totaled 21 tackles and one sack this year. He earned Pro Bowl alternate honors in 2018 after recording 60 tackles and 12 sacks.

Chubb will earn a base salary of $434,645 this year, according to Spotrac.com. He is signed through the 2021 season and Denver will have the option to add a fifth year to his contract for the 2022 season.
