Sporty touch-ups are now available in the plug-in hybrid saloon and SUV flagships with prices undercutting those of rivals.

Volvo Car Thailand has extended the R-Design treatment to the semi-electric models of the S90 and XC90.
After launching the cheaper and classier Momentum and Inscription trims in their saloon and SUV flagships, the Thai Volvo office is now offering a third variation appealing to sporty palates.
Key design elements in the R-Design package include piano-black parts, racy interior upholstery and bespoke wheels. While the S90 gets 19-inch alloys, the XC90 receives 20-inchers.
A 13-speaker sound system developed with Harman Kardon is also standard to justify the R-Design’s range-topping status.
With the availability of R-Design in both models equipped with 407hp T8 plug-in hybrid system, Volvo hopes to underscore its future with cars featuring a youthful appearance and eco-friendly credentials. The first plug-in Volvo in Thailand to have R-Design to choose from is the XC60.
Prices for the S90 T8 and XC90 T8 with R-Design have been set at 3.59 and 4.59 million baht respectively undercutting all of its comparable rivals from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
The 530e M Sport and E350e AMG Dynamic, both coming with four-cylinder hybrids producing less than 300hp, cost 3.899 and 4.19 million baht accordingly.
The X5 xDrive40e M Sport, equipped with 313hp of semi-electric power, goes for 4.699 million baht. The GLE500e AMG Dynamic, meanwhile, asks for 4.99 million baht but boasts 442hp petrol-electric V6.
