Volunteers thanked for 'selfless efforts' in search for missing Noah Donohoe

Community volunteers helping in the search for missing teenager Noah Donohoe were asked to step back for now.

The 14-year-old has been missing since Sunday evening, and on Wednesday hundreds searched the streets of Belfast, where he was last seen.

One witness believes they saw a young male fitting Noah's description falling off his bike, leading to fears he may have sustained a head injury.

His family are extremely concerned about his wellbeing.

In a statement issued in agreement with Noah's family, the public were thanked for their efforts yesterday evening.

It read: "Following conversations with the PSNI and Rescue Service we are respectfully asking Community Volunteers to step back unless otherwise instructed.

"This position has been fully endorsed by the family.

"On behalf of the family we want to thank you all for your selfless efforts in the search for Noah Donohoe. It has been a true reflection of our community spirit."
