Litter and other garbage on Puthuvype beach was cleaned on Thursday by volunteers under the banner of Kerala Hotel and Restaurant Association (KHRA), Stenum Asia, a New Delhi-based NGO which is spearheading an initiative titled Prevention of Marine Litter in the Lakshadweep Sea (PROMISE), and Rezoy, a food delivery app.

The cleaning drive was inaugurated by K. Chandran Pillai, GCDA Chairman. Around 250 NSS volunteers from MES College, Marampilly; SCMS College of Management; SCMS College of Architecture, and SCMS College of Engineering participated.

The garbage was sorted and sent for recycling.
