Volkswagen will suspend production over coronavirus - works council

German carmaker Volkswagen <VOWG_p.DE> will on Tuesday announce a suspension of its production due to the coronavirus pandemic, the company's works council said on Tuesday.

For the vast majority of plants this means the last shift will take place on Friday, it said in a statement.
