MPs are on their way back from an Easter break. Even though many people are critical of them for taking time off, at least it has given them chance to have a long, hard think.
The break is important – to let them re-charge their batteries and to remind them that there’s more to life than Brexit.

Of course Brexit is the most important decision for a generation – but there are other things going on. So when MPs return, it’s important to find a quick resolution.
That way Parliament – and everyone else – can return to other matters.

All sorts of things have been allowed to happen while we’ve been distracted by Brexit.
That needs to change. Our country is reeling from the effects of austerity. We have a shortage of nurses, teachers and prison officers.
Council budgets are being slashed mercilessly, there is creeping privatisation in the NHS, our schools are crumbling. And millions are living in grinding poverty.
So we hope MPs come back with a determination to deal with Brexit quickly so the real work can begin.
