Voice of the Mirror: There's a special place in hell for the bombers in Sri Lanka

There will be a special place in hell for the monsters in Sri Lanka who murdered more than 200 church worshippers on Christianity’s holiest day, and hotel guests enjoying the weekend.

The men, women and children killed or maimed by eight bomb blasts were innocent victims of unforgivable atrocities.

Britons are among the victims, and it is the duty of the Foreign Office to help grieving families, ensure the injured get medical care and bring home both the living and the dead.

Troubled Sri Lanka had been enjoying some relatively peaceful years after the bloody civil war between the Sinhalese majority and Tamil minority.

But human rights groups warned that arrests and torture actually continued, with religious and ethnic groups persecuted by the state.

Our hearts go out to the victims and we condemn unreservedly the callous bombers.
