Britain compares well with other countries when it comes to accepting the safety of vaccines.
Nearly four out of 10 people in France and a quarter of the US population have said they may not have the Covid jab.
By contrast, only a small percentage of Britons have turned it down.
Part of the problem is the way dangerous conspiracy theories and misinformation have been allowed to spread on social media.

By having the vaccine you are not just protecting yourself but those around you.
As the Queen rightly points out, anti-vaxxers need to think about other people, not

The majority went to private firms, including many with links to the Conservatives.

Given the sums involved, the least you would have expected is for the system to operate effectively. Yet for months it failed to reach the 80% of contacts that scientists say is necessary for the scheme to work.
One of the firms to benefit from these lucrative contracts is Serco. It has done so well it is now paying out millions in dividends.
The Government needs to explain why it has allowed so many companies to profit off the back of a public health emergency.
