No comfort for parents
Boris Johnson’s latest TV stunt saw him make a whistle-stop trip to a school in Leicestershire yesterday.
It is a shame the Prime Minister did not find the time to talk to the parents of the pupils during his visit.
He then would have heard first-hand their frustration and dismay over the confused guidance on reopening schools next week.
Parents, teachers and unions are crying out for clarity. Instead they have been given conflicting advice, not least on face masks.

Earlier this week ministers were adamant there was no need for secondary school pupils in England to wear face coverings. Now they are being told they have to wear them in certain circumstances.
This farce comes just days after the exam gradings fiasco.
Little wonder that many parents have concluded the Government is making up policy as it goes along.
The Prime Minister should spend less time posing for the cameras and more time addressing their concerns.
MP class snub
Two years ago a report found that bullying and sexual harassment was a significant problem in Westminster.
At the time we were promised a change in the culture at Parliament.

Key to that was MPs attending anti-sexual harassment training.
But so far, 140 Conservative MPs have failed to take the course. This includes the Prime Minister and 13 other Cabinet ministers.
These MPs risk giving the impression they are not taking the issue seriously.
This is not just insulting to victims, it sets a poor example to other employers.
Blast from past
Old-fashioned names such as Mabel and Alfred have become increasingly popular.
If this trend continues it won’t be long before we have a generation of kids named Æthelred, Boudicca and Cuthbert.
