Foreign Office minister Mark Field was rightly suspended on Friday after his aggressive attack on a female protester.

If the Tory MP had any dignity he would have resigned immediately.

It speaks volumes about Jeremy Hunt, one of the contenders for the leadership, that he refused to condemn Mr Field’s behaviour.

And it tells you even more about Boris Johnson that he refused to comment at all.

The image of Field in a dinner jacket grabbing a woman by the throat could be a metaphor for all that is wrong with this arrogant Government.
