Big test for ministers
The development of a test that can tell if you have had Covid-19 is a significant moment in the fight against coronavirus.
This antibody test not only offers reassurance to those worried about whether or not they have had the virus. It could potentially be the passport that allows more people to return to work or visit their friends and family.
Rightly, it will first be made available to NHS staff and carers before being rolled out on a wider basis.
It is too early to know if the test is a game-changer. It will take time to understand whether those who have had the antibody have developed immunity.
The Government also needs to make sure it has the capacity to deliver these tests across the country if they do prove effective.

It has only reached its target of 100,000 tests a day – a test which tells if you currently have Covid-19 – in three of the last 10 days.
We are on the cusp of a major medical breakthrough in the fight against this horrific illness.
It is one that ministers must not squander.
Final whistle
Sports clubs, music venues and theatres are the bedrock of our communities.
So it is worrying that many now fear for their survival as a result of the coronavirus.
A report today warns that many lower-tier football, cricket and rugby clubs face going out of business. We are also seeing local arts festivals put at risk and some theatres forced to close their doors permanently.
These institutions are a source of great local pride and help bring people together.
When we emerge from this crisis, we will need more than ever the sport, entertainment and cultural venues that make life worth living.
Alright for sun
People in England are set to enjoy their first weekend since the lockdown eased.
And there’s a heatwave coming. So enjoy the weather and, if you are fair-skinned, remember to keep a social distance from the sun.
