Stand up to toxic tyrant
Serial liar and professional incompetent Boris Johnson isn’t fit to lace the boots of Labour’s Gordon Brown or even former Tory leader John Major...so this Downing Street fool should listen and learn.
The two ex-PMs spell out sensibly and forcefully why Johnson will never be forgiven if he crashes out of Europe without a deal, sacrificing the jobs and living standards of hundreds of thousands of people to save his own job.
His lies got us into this mess in the first place, the barefaced porkies of a wilfully ignorant ambitious egomaniac prepared to twist the truth to win the keys to No 10.
We must be saved from this toxic Tory who’s set to sever vital trade and security links.
Brown and Major are adults whereas Johnson’s a spoilt brat.
So next week, when MPs return, a sovereign Parliament must refuse to be suspended by a tinpot tyrant.
This isn’t about remaining or leaving but about averting an economic crash and despotic rule by an enemy of democracy.
End this agony
Slashing compensation for rape victims and the badly injured because they have criminal records is so obviously callously unfair it must end immediately.
Whatever was done previously doesn’t diminish the anguish when people now on the straight and narrow become targets.
The Millwall fan injured confronting the London Bridge terrorists wasn’t alone when the system penalised him for past offences.
Arguing criminals deserve a taste of their own medicine isn’t valid.
What counts is their innocence when they become victims. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board needs to start treating everybody with respect.
Talent will out
Same-sex couples on Strictly will have the show foxtrotting into the modern era.
Entertainment and ability are what counts, not the sexuality of participants.
So let everybody – a man and a woman, two women or a pair of men – put their best feet forward and be judged solely on their talents.
