Big Brother's Marcus Bentley says axed reality show is 'one year' off returning

Reality TV sensation Big Brother could be making a comeback, according to the man who provided the voiceover.

Marcus Bentley narrated every series between its UK inception in 2000, all the way until its 2018 cancellation.

Now the man himself has sent fans into meltdown by saying the show is close to returning to telly screens.

Retweeting a post from a Big Brother fansite, Marcus wrote: "I said this to my Mrs. yesterday - We're one year closer to BB's return!"

The original post had shared a video featuring former hosts Emma Willis and Davina McCall reflecting on what a cultural sensation the show had become.

The series focused on a group of people who've never met put into a house together.

Needless to say, fans are giddy with excitement at the prospect of a return.

"Omg I hope so. It's just not the same without it," one wrote.

Another fancied their chances on the show, writing: "We need you back @marcusBBentley I hope it happens and I pray I can appear."

A third gushed: "Marcus telly is not the same without you! Hope you're well and you return real soon with Rylan Clark-Neal] and Emma."

The show also spawned a celeb spin-off, featuring some of the biggest names in showbiz.

Diva Forever's Gemma Collins graced the house with her presence, and gave fans some of the show's most iconic moments with her outlandishly melodramatic attitude.

Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson also had a crack at the house, where he struck up a romance with former X Factor hopeful Amelia Lily.
