E-scooter operator Voi has confirmed that its loyalty scheme will end next month. The loyalty programme, which launched in 2020, allows customers to rack up miles with every payment, which can be redeemed for free rides.
April 8 has been confirmed as the cut-off date, with the exception of 'top users', who will be given another 30 days to make use of the benefits. According to a post on Reddit, top users have been told they can still use the 'Voialty' scheme until May 7.
In a statement today (March 13) a Voi spokesperson said: “We’re constantly evaluating our products and services to best serve the needs of our users. After careful consideration, we’ve decided that it’s time we end our loyalty program.

“We understand that this may cause frustration for some of you, especially if you’ve been engaged in the program for some time. However, we want to emphasise that we remain committed to providing you with the best possible services, and that there will be new offerings on the horizon."
Thanking users for their support, Voi said users could contact their support team for any queries. Seen as a pioneer in the micro-mobility market, the Swedish company said it has more than seven million riders, with an average of 720,000 active riders per month.
The rental Voi e-scooters were launched in Bristol in 2020 as a pilot scheme and they quickly proved popular as an alternative form of travel to get around the city. At the end of 2022, it was reported that more than 280,000 people have used Voi’s e-scooters in the West of England, which adds up to a massive 6,000,000 journeys since the trial started.
There are 18 separate e-scooter trials going on in Britain with two thirds of the rides are on Voi e-scooters. Bristol is reported as having the most riders, the most rides and the most distances covered than any other city in Europe.
