Vogue Williams leads heartbreaking tributes to celeb hairstylist Darren Lacken after sad passing

Thalia Heffernan and Vogue Williams led heartbreaking tributes to celebrity hairstylist Darren Lacken, after the news broke of his sad passing.

Darren, who was the director and co-owner of Crow Street Collective in Temple Bar, died suddenly on Wednesday.

The popular salon said they have been left "devastated" as they broke the news of his death on their Instagram account on Thursday.

They wrote: “It is with broken hearts we are devastated to say our beloved Darren passed away suddenly yesterday.”

“It is impossible to convey into words how we are feeling right now…

“He was the heart & soul of our salon, a best friend to each and every one of us and the backbone of our team.”

“Our hearts are with Mark and all of Darren’s family at this tragic time,” they added.

Heartbroken friends, co-workers, and famous clients flooded the comment section with their tributes.

Model Thalia Heffernan said: “I can’t comprehend this. One of the greatest people to ever grace this earth.

“The world is a far less beautiful place without you, Darren.

“I’m so sorry and sending love to friends and family.”

Angela Scanlon, added: “I’m so sorry to hear this. Such a gorgeous person xx”

While Dublin DJ and presenter Vogue Williams took to her Instagram Stories to react to the sad news, writing: “Just so sad to hear this… Everyone knew Darren. Such a lovely person.

“He was only in my house a couple of weeks ago and had us all in stitches. Rest in peace lovely Darren.”

“I can’t believe what I’m reading,” model Teodora Sutra added.

“Darrens family & nearest n dearest are on my mind today, I can’t even begin to imagine the heartbreak. Most Beautiful soul gone upto heaven.”

Fellow Irish model Sarah Morrissey also penned a tribute, saying: “I'm so devastated to hear this. Darren was a shining light of positivity in our Industry.

“He smile and warmth will be so sadly missed.”

Makeup artist Paula Callan said she was ‘absolutely devastated and heartbroken’ over the news.

“Darren was one of those people that you looked forward to working with… you always knew it was going to be an amazing day if Darren was there…

“I still can’t believe this is true. Thoughts and prayers to Mark, his family, work team and friends. Darren will be greatly missed.”

Darren was well known and renowned in his field, having received several awards for his work over the past few decades.

He’s a six-times winner of the Irish Photographic Awards, an Image Style Award winner and Wella Trend Vision winner, with an impressive client list that includes Cara Delevingne and Alexa Chung.
