Vodafone's 5G network is now live in eight other locations across the UK (& here's where)

Vodafone's 5G network is available in more locations across the UK - after launching in eight new places including Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton.

Earlier this month, BusinessLive reported how the network went live in nine locations - in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Isles of Scilly, Manchester, Newbury, Liverpool and London.

But now it has been extended across a host of new towns and cities, with 5G being launched in Birkenhead, Bolton, Gatwick, Lancaster, Newbury, Plymouth, Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton.

Blackpool, Bournemouth, Guildford, Portsmouth, Reading and Southampton, are due to receive 5G by the end of 2019.

is also widening its 5G footprint by adding 20 locations across Germany to the 35 places already on the 5G European roaming network, which will go live soon.

It means both consumers and business customers will be able to roam over 5G in some of the most popular tourist and business locations in Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK - at no additional cost.

Vodafone UK Chief Executive Officer Nick Jeffery said: “Vodafone’s global presence means we can provide our consumer and business customers with 5G in more destinations than any other UK provider.

"Combined with our new unlimited data plans, we are offering customers the best roaming experience ever. They won’t have to hunt for wifi or rely on often expensive and slow hotel connections; they can use their 5G smartphones to enjoy faster roaming.”
