Vodafone broadband down as thousands of customers report internet issues

Thousands of Vodafone customers have experienced issues with their broadband this morning (Monday, April 10) as reports of connectivity issues surged.

Monitoring website Downdetector saw a huge spike in Vodafone users reporting problems with their internet, with nearly 3,000 reports of an outage being registered by customers by 9:30am compared to a small handful at 7:30am. People across the UK appeared to be experiencing the same issue, with one person commenting on the site this morning: "Mine's been out for hours in Kent. So annoying."

Someone else wrote: "I'm in Chipping Norton, internet is down here too. I have all lights on my router but zero connection."

A third person shared: "Stickney Lincolnshire, full fibre down. Some websites work when changing DNS but not all of them."

"Been down since about 8:30am here in North Wales," a different customer commented, while another asked: "Internet down, lights on and nobody at home, any ideas what's going on?"

Someone else chipped in: "Northern Ireland - nothing since 8am, can't connect to Vodafone servers when attempting connection test and all agents busy when trying to connect to online chat."

Vodafone issued a statement on social media following reports of the outages, writing on Twitter: "We're aware of and investigating an issue impacting some of our home broadband customers since this morning. Getting our customers reconnected is now our top priority, and we're incredibly sorry for any inconvenience this is causing."

It comes less than a week after thousands of Virgin Media broadband customers experienced similar problems, as Downdetector saw over 25,000 complaints registered over the service on Tuesday, April 4. Some users said that they were even unable to access the provider's status checker for an update on the situation, which appeared to have crashed amid the huge influx of reported issues.
