Music world royalty turned out in force on Monday night for the MTV VMAs in New Jersey.
Fresh from releasing her seventh album 'Lovers', Taylor Swift hit the red carpet in a sparkling Versace blazer dress and thigh high boots. Swift was tied with Ariana Grande with a total of 10 VMA nominations.
Popstar Lizzo arrived in custom Moschino by Jeremy Scott - a red, strapless sequin gown paired with a silver metallic boa.
On Monday the 'Truth Hurts' singer also hit number one on the Billboard R&B charts, dethroning Lil Nas X's inescapable summer hit 'Old Town' Road.'
Lizzo was also listed on former President Barack Obama's exclusive summer playlist and was nominated for Best New Artist.
The Hadid sisters, Bella and Gigi, also turned out in co-ordinated looks. Gigi Hadid wore a pink satin clutch, tailored trousers and pointed Mary Jane pumps by Tom Ford.
Other red carpet looks were a little more controversial. YouTube star Tana Mongeau appeared to be reliving the iconic 'Slave 4 U' Britney Spears performance from 2001, as she arrived with a live snake wrapped around her, though animal rights protestors online slammed the stunt as irresponsible.
She recently staged a wedding to fellow YouTuber Jake Paul. Mongeau stars on MTV reality show 'Tana Turns 21.'
Despite speculation that the pair would make their red carpet debut as a couple, Shawn Mendes appeared on the carpet without his girlfriend, former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello.
The pair has had a romantic summer, packing on the PDA everywhere from Miami to Montreal.
