Vladimir Putin's health under scrutiny as claims Russian leader is 'dying from terminal cancer and in pain'

A former intelligence officer who works for the Pentagon has claimed that Russian leader Vladimir Putin could be gravely ill.

The source, who has not been named, has alleged that the 69-year-old is suffering from terminal cancer, adding that chemotherapy or steroids are supposedly the cause of his "puffy face".

He also believes Putin is in agony, with his solemn expression the giveaway., The Daily Star reports.

The Russian leader is currently facing the wrath of world leaders after invading Ukraine and starting a war in the country which has led to the deaths of hundreds of people.

The source claims a grave diagnosis could have encouraged Putin's aggressive stance with the Russian leader attacking Ukraine to leave a legacy.

Analysts have been studying Putin's behaviour since the outbreak of the war and the source says they have come to the conclusion he has a terminal illness.

The source said: “In the past we have seen him smile, but in 2022 there are few pictures of him looking happy.

"His look suggests he is in pain and our people suggest his angry look is most likely as a result of him being in agony.

"Our people are confident he is ill – he is concerned about Covid as he keeps his staff at a distance.”

Putin officially started the war against Ukraine by invading the country on February 24.

Since then, Russia's nuclear deterrent has been on high alert and world leaders have condemned his behaviour.

Earlier today, Mr Johnson told The New York Times he has a six-point plan to ensure Putin fails.
