Vladimir Putin's destructive new Satan-2 nuclear missile is 'grave threat' to UK

Vladimir Putin's flagship "Satan-2" nuclear missile is a grave threat to the UK, a US defence official has warned.

Last week the tyrant's propagandists chillingly called for the British Embassy's address in Moscow to be changed to "Sarmat Square" - the Russian name for Putin's most famous nuke.

The intercontinental ballistic missile has become the despot's main point of military pride, with him mentioning its destructive power at any given opportunity.

The Satan-2 was first launched amid dramatic scenes on April 20 as it rose from an underground Russian silo surrounded by roaring flames.

It came as Putin said the nuclear-capable missile would bolster Russia's security, making "those fierce people who are trying to threaten it" think twice.

He claimed there would be "no analogues to this weapon in the world for a long time to come".

Though Putin often overstates Russia's capabilities during his aggressive speeches, on this occasion his comments were close to the truth.

Former senior staffer for the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Tom Moore told The Mirror how the missile has thrown the US-Russian military standoff back to the Cold War.

Mr Moore explained: "The missile replaces the SS-18, which former Secretary of State James A. Baker called 'the hydra-headed monsters of the Cold War'.

"And yes, Sarmat is a grave threat to the United States and the United Kingdom."

Mr Moore went said the weapon is so destructive because it can carry a "large number" of nuclear devices and it has "sophisticated means of delivery that may reside on the missile".

It's not the amount of warheads the missile can carry, but the different "kinds" of weapons that can be attached which make it so dangerous.

He added: "It will outlive present arms control by many years and could eventually exist in an unlimited way once New START expires in four or so years.

"That puts us right back to the 1970s in the United States, with the same Cold War concerns we had, then."

This comes as Putin's "Iron Doll" propagandist Olga Skabeyeva threatened NATO capitals, including London and Washington with nuclear strikes.

The head of Russia ’s state space agency 'Roscosmos', Dmitry Rogozin, published satellite pictures and map coordinates of Downing Street, the White House, and NATO headquarters in Brussels, which Ms Skabeyeva seized upon.

She said in a message: "With greetings to the participants of the [NATO] summit of a bloc openly hostile to Russia. Look at the screen but do not be afraid, please.

“The Russian Space Agency published satellite images and exact coordinates of what we call the ‘decision-making centres’ of Western countries.

“And the venue of the summit in Madrid, where Russia is declared the worst enemy.”

The Russian propagandist denied she was making threats but wanted the countries to "keep it in mind”.
