Viveka case: N Sunitha seeks SC supervision in probe

VIJAYAWADA: Raising apprehensions over the manner in which the investigation is going on in her father’s murder case, N Sunitha, daughter of Y S Vivekananda Reddy moved the Supreme Court seeking direct supervision of the investigation.

It was after her petition seeking for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, the high court had earlier handed over the case from state police to the CBI.

The CBI has been investigating the case since last two years and even filed a charge sheet naming T Gangi Reddy, G Uma Shankar Reddy, D Siva Shankar Reddy, Y Sunil Yadav and Shaik Dastagiri as accused in the case. Dastagiri later turned approver in the case. However, the probe into the case is still underway to find out the involvement of others in the case.

Sunitha moved the apex court contending that the CBI probe is heading nowhere and is taking too much time. She stated that cases are being registered against the CBI officers investigating the case and the officials are working in the hostile environment. She pleaded the apex court to directly monitor the progress of the investigation and sought directions to transfer the case to other states from AP. The Supreme Court is yet to hear the petition.
