Vitamins and a caffeine hit – the cold blend coffee hitting Scotland

Lifestyle brand Two Birds is to launch a bottled cold-blend coffee enriched with vitamins at this weekend's Glasgow Coffee Festival.

The beverage is being marketed as a grab and go caffeine hit for people with a busy lifestyle.

It is roasted in Glasgow by Dear Green Coffee Roasters using ethically sourced Brazilian Fazenda Pantano coffee beans, enriched with Two Birds' blend of antioxidants, vitamin C, and echinacea, then finished with a touch of ginger, turmeric and agave.

Festival founder's six new coffee trends for 2019

Two Birds cold blend is vegan and dairy-free, offers a healthier option to many takeaway coffees and can be consumed as a post-lunch pick-me-up or a gym caffeine hit.

The firm will ask coffee drinkers at the festival this weekend to drop a coffee bean into a YES or NO pint glass, depending on whether they like it or not.

Daniel Stevenson, 24, co-founded the Two Birds brand with his brother Greg and entrepreneur father Neil. They launched a boutique fitness studio in Glasgow's business district last month.

Daniel said: “We’ve been developing our unique Two Birds cold-blend coffee for over a year now and we’re very excited to let people try it for themselves. People can now enjoy the caffeine boost of a speciality grade coffee with all the added immune function and anti-inflammatory benefits from the host of vitamins in our unique blend.

Coffee shop chain to open three more shops in Scotland

“There’s no better way to find out what the great and good of Glasgow’s exciting coffee scene think than at the Glasgow Coffee Festival - it’s the perfect place to launch and we can’t wait to hear what the country’s coffee lovers have to say. We are confident everyone will love our drink just as much as we do.”

Last week, Dear Green founder Lisa Lawson predicted the product would be a “big hit” and “one of the trends to look out for this year”.
