Visors another area Zac Taylor greatly differs from Marvin Lewis

New Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor differs in quite a few ways from Marvin Lewis.

Players have often cited the new energy around the team since Taylor arrived. Some of this stems from the little things — like being allowed to listen to music in the locker room.

Another one of those little things? Visors.

Here’s Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic:

Marvin Lewis didn’t allow any visors that wouldn’t be worn during the games. Taylor opts for a different philosophy that goes across the board for his “if it doesn’t have to do with winning, then it doesn’t matter to me” mantra.

The arrival of Taylor would explain why fans have seen seemingly countless visors on helmets pop up in camp all of a sudden — players are now free to wear what they want.

And in the grand scheme of things, Players opting for eye protection in practices and camps, or dark visors to combat the sun, doesn’t seem like a big deal.

Maybe the number of visors seen on players in camp right now won’t show up during live games soon. But it’s another loosening of a rule established by the last regime that is helping contribute to the overall better vibes coming out of Cincinnati.
