Vision of £58 million Perth High School showcased in new illustrations

Perth High School has shared an artist’s impression of how its new building will look.

The £58.5 million school is scheduled to open in summer 2024.

Plans for the brand new school have now been submitted to Perth and Kinross Council.

The plans will be scrutinised by councillors at a future meeting.

Perth High School shared artist’s impressions of the new school on its Twitter page over the weekend.

The school is being built to a Passivhaus design.

The environmentally friendly design allowed PKC to secure 50 per cent of the capital funding from the Scottish Government’s Learning Estate Investment Programme.

Work on the school was delayed by the pandemic.

It was originally due to open in August 2023 but is now expected to open some time in the summer of 2024.

Perth City South Liberal Democrat councillor Liz Barrett said: “I think it’s just great.

"I am delighted that the plans have been submitted and it’s going to be built to Passivhaus standards.

“That means it’s going to be properly insulated and use as little energy as possible.”
