Vishwa Kalyana Yajna held at Amritapuri Ashram

Sivam Sundaram Vishwa Kalyana Yajna, a Vedic ritual for world peace, was held at the Amritapuri Ashram here on Wednesday.

Led by Mata Amritanandamayi, the rituals were performed by 108 sanyasinis and brahmacharinis. The event started at 5 a.m. with Swami Turiyamritananda Puri and Swamini Krishnamrita Prana lighting the lamp, followed by Ganapati homa, Navagraha homa, and Mrityunjaya homa. A message that ‘women should be empowered to lead from the front’ was also conveyed to the world by 108 sanyasinis and brahmacharinis through the Vishwakalyana Yajna.

At the conclusion of the yajna, the Mata led everyone in meditation for world peace.

“In this time of war and the pandemic, we all need to recharge our minds so that good may come to all and peace may prevail throughout the world,” she said.

The yajna was completed with Mata Amritanandamayi chanting a peace prayer and distributing prasad to the participants.
