VISAKHAPATNAM: The city police are still groping in the dark with no lead coming their way in the double-murder case of a couple S Appa Rao (60) and his wife S Lakshmi (55). The couple were found murdered at an under-construction complex near Saptagirinagar in Vizag on Monday.
Inspector of police, Pendurthi, G Ashok Kumar said that they have collected some CCTV footage of the area, but the footage is not clear. There were no CCTV cameras at the under-construction building where the double-murder took place. “We are investigating the case from various angles, but we are yet to establish the motive behind the murder and arrest the accused,” Kumar added. The victims’ son, Satyanarayana, said that his parents didn’t have enmity with anyone. He also mentioned that his parents had shifted to Sapthagiri Nagar some four weeks ago.
The cops also ruled out murder-for-gain as the motive as the accused didn’t steal anything from the spot. Since the victims belonged to Vizianagaram district, police is also gathering information from the couple’s hometown to get a clue. tnn
