The Tokyo Games athletes village saw a shortage of coronavirus test kits earlier this month, sources said on Friday.
According to officials, a number of national Olympic committees reported several days ago that they hadn't received their kits, resulting in some of their athletes being unable to undergo the mandatory daily testing stipulated in the Tokyo 2020 Playbook.
The Games' organizers maintained the specified test frequency target by conducting two tests the next day. "On Saturday, everyone will receive the kits necessary for the duration of their stay," said an official.
