By then she should have negotiated the winter tips season with aplomb and earned a few significant thumbs up from influential types. Plenty to be cheerful about, unlike the subject of her new single.

In fact it’s an emotional piano ballad about her estranged father starting a new family. Heavy stuff, especially in the video, in which the 21-year-old takes a lonely walk from childhood to adulthood and ends up staring mournfully into a cosy home from the outside.
It’s just passed two million YouTube views, another sign that singing success is about to sweeten her life considerably.
