GIFU -- With the opening of a museum introducing the famous Battle of Sekigahara, visitors can virtually experience the battle via special images and exhibitions.
The Sekigahara Memorial Museum, located in Sekigahara, Gifu Prefecture, opened Wednesday to introduce the 1600 Battle of Sekigahara, in which warlords nationwide -- divided into east and west camps -- faced off against each other.
At the five-floor facility, a theater where one can virtually experience the battle is expected to attract many visitors. An animation is projected on a 4.5-meter-high, 13-meter-wide screen from the point of view of a warrior who took part in the battle -- with the wind blowing and the seats swaying.
This is the first such facility that provides a comprehensive introduction to the battle. Reservations are required in principle.
