A virtual memorial service is to be held in memory of the Glaswegians who lost their lives in 2020.
The service, which is open to everyone, has been arranged to give people who have lost a loved one in the past 12 months an opportunity to honour their memory.
It will be hosted by Glasgow’s largest family funeral directors, Anderson Maguire, via Facebook on Wednesday, December 16 and Thursday, December 17.
The bereaved have been invited to submit the name of their loved one and on the night their name will be read out and a candle lit in their honour.
Dom Maguire, Chairman of Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors, said: “We know many people have not been able to have the funeral service they want or deserve for their loved one in recent months.
“We hope our Virtual Memorial Services will bring some comfort and offer an opportunity for all those who have been bereaved to come together as a community and honour their loved one.
“The last few months have also been incredibly challenging for us as funeral directors. Our natural instincts are to reach out to all those bereaved through physical touch and our inability to do that will continue for some time yet. We hope that our words and actions are testament to how much we care.”
People are invited to submit their loved one’s details via Anderson Maguire’s Facebook page HERE or by emailing events@andersonmaguire.co.uk or visit the service website HERE.
